First Apartment

Drawing on the walls and beads and bongs
Playing our guitars writing songs
Mama don't worry we're not doing anything wrong
This is life in our first apartment

We're throwing a bit of a get together
Can't call it a party because that would be breaking
The lease is signed and I'm happy to stay here
In our first apartment

This is life in our first apartment

Coffee with Jackie the Psych student downstairs
Sometimes she's bitchy when we jam too late
I'd feel really bad but you know I can't help but to
Deviate from the norm

I'm happy
I'm not quite what you would call healthy
But I'll eat eggs and toast because they are the most
That I can afford right now

This is life in our first apartment

Will can you pass me an ashtray
Don't we have any left that are clean
And maybe it's time we cleaned out the fridge
I think everything in there is green
Are you going downstairs
Can you do me a favor
Switch my laundry to the dryer
I'm a little preoccupied here in the kitchen
Trying to put out this grease fire
I'll clean the bathroom if you do the dishes
Nobody's allowed to buy me more fishes
I only forget to feed them and change their water
And then they get sick and they die and I cry
But such is life
Here in our first apartment

This is life in our first apartment

Our friends are all welcome
They drop in to say (get) high
Some are unemployed hippies
Others get paid to fly
I hope they'll still visit when we move away
They can say that they knew us back in the day
When I worked all night and slept all day
Dreaming and scheming and finding my way
Through this world that's giving me so much to say
I've always wanted to feel this way
I'm free I am light as a feather
And I could be satisfied here forever
Here in our first apartment

I'll miss life in our first apartment.
